Lemonmint announced today the publication of an expert report on large-scale digital maturity in healthcare. This work, emerging from the Digital Maturity ExpertLab at the 6th GCC eHealth Development Conference in Dubai, encapsulates the combined expertise of leading professionals in the field. The conference, organized by the GCC Taskforce on Workforce Development in Digital Healthcare (ZIMAM) and MWAN Events, witnessed Lemonmint serving as both a partner and co-host, cementing its role as a globally recognised competence center for healthtech communications.
Dr. Osama Elhassan, co-founder of ZIMAM, in his foreword, emphasizes the transformative potential of digital maturity in healthcare. He highlights the mantra “grow or die” as especially resonant in the sector, stressing the need for a robust strategy and the empowerment of technical and clinical resources. Dr. Elhassan notes the often overlooked impact of empowered multidisciplinary teams, a gap that the establishment of the International Digital Health Workforce Development Collaborative (ZIMAM) seeks to address.
The success of digital health transformation hinges not just on technology but equally on the people who implement and sustain it.

Armin Scheuer, the CEO of Lemonmint, in his editorial, discusses the practical and impactful nature of understanding digital maturity. Scheuer outlines how digital maturity frameworks serve as strategic roadmaps, guiding the implementation of digital solutions in healthcare. He notes, “Digital maturity assessments are crucial tools,” underscoring their importance in informing decisions related to policies, investments, or business strategies. Scheuer chaired the Digital Maturity ExpertLab, which he describes as a “landmark gathering” that will influence health policy and business decisions.
Highlighting Large-Scale Digital Maturity Projects in Germany and KSA
Germany and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) stand out for their large-scale digital maturity initiatives. Germany’s healthcare system is undergoing a significant transformation with the introduction of the DigitalRadar model, initiated by the Federal Ministry of Health. This project is a major step in enhancing digital maturity across the nation’s healthcare institutions, born out of the need to assess the impact of substantial government funding allocated for digitizing hospitals.
Similarly, KSA is making considerable progress in digital transformation, supported by the Saudi e-Health Maturity Assessment (SeMA). This comprehensive framework is designed to enhance the digital maturity of KSA’s healthcare sector, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
