Digital Maturity Tour Goes Scotland

It’s the third stop on Lemonmint’s international Digital Maturity Tour. Following events in Saudi Arabia and Germany, Lemonmint partners with the Digital Health and Care Innovation Centre (DHI), the Scottish Technology and Diabetes Group, and the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to set the spotlight on Scotland’s digital ecosystems for the prevention and management of diabetes.

Set for 4 June 2025, this invitation-only event brings together senior decision-makers and visionaries to mark the Scottish visit of Professor Peter Schwarz, President of IDF.

“Digital maturity is about creating the conditions for real transformation — aligning technology with people, processes, and purpose. To do so, we need sustainable investment, measurable progress, and international collaboration to ensure the evolution of digital ecosystems centred around the workforce and the people they serve – as we can see in Scotland,” said Armin Scheuer, CEO & Founder of Lemonmint and editor of Digital Maturity in Hospitals (Springer, 2025).

Programme Highlights:

  • Global Vision, Local Action: Keynote by Prof. Peter Schwarz (IDF) on the worldwide rise of diabetes and the need for digital-first responses.
  • Scotland’s Data Foundations: Prof. Sam Philip (NHS Grampian), National Clinical Lead for Diabetes, presents SCI-Diabetes—one of the most mature national diabetes registries in the world.
  • Digital Maturity in Practice: Panel discussion chaired by Janette Hughes (DHI) with Armin Scheuer (Lemonmint), Dr. Abdulaziz Alhomod (Seha Virtual Hospital, Saudi Arabia), Prof. Sarah Wild (University of Edinburgh), and Prof. Sam Philip.
  • Innovation on the Ground: Featuring Suzanne Graham (CSFD), Prof. Brian Kennon (NHS Scotland), and Dr. Debbie Wake (MyWay Digital Health) on AI-driven models, ANIA Diabetes Portfolio, and digital self-management.
  • Global Collaboration: Closing panel moderated by Donna Henderson (Scottish Government) with Prof. Peter Schwarz (IDF), Prof. Brian Kennon, and Mark Cook (Life Sciences Scotland), exploring how Scotland and the IDF can jointly accelerate diabetes research, education, and care.

Global Aspects of Digital Maturity in Healthcare

The Digital Maturity Tour is rooted in the recently published book, Digital Maturity in Hospitals: Strategies, Frameworks, and Global Case Studies to Shape Future Healthcare (Springer, 2025), edited by Armin Scheuer and Jörg Studzinski. The book brings together insights from over 50 international experts, offering practical tools and frameworks for hospitals embarking on their digital transformation journeys.

The event is part of Lemonmint’s broader mission to establish a health data society, empowering institutions to move from data collection to data value — from ambition to measurable results. The Digital Maturity Tour will continue in select countries throughout 2025, capturing and connecting examples of transformation that others can learn from.
